Comedians aren’t just at risk of cabin fever during this time of social distancing and self-isolation, gig cancellations have meant not just loss of earnings but also fewer chances to try out new material or build audiences. However, being a creative lot, comedians have been flexing their comedy muscles online, using YouTube, Twitch, Twitter and other sites to connect with audiences, new and established alike. To help you get your comedy fix, every week we’ll be putting together a list of projects we’ve spotted online by funny women…
2019 Funny Women Awards finalist Jen Ives has launched a Twitch.tv channel, Eyebrows Not Included. You can catch the comedian entertaining her audience with anecdotes and quirky takes on the news to a soundtrack of her own making.
2016 Funny Women Awards Best Show winner Anna Morris has brought her hilarious character Georgina back to YouTube, Anna says:”I am making a comedy web series to keep me sane and try and give people a bit of silly entertainment.” You can watch Georgina’s Lockdown Diaries here!
Every Wednesday at 8pm Word of Muff will be hosting Tight Spaces on Twitch.tv, a chatshow and platform for comedians to come and try out jokes they were still perfecting before COVID-19 came and shut all the gig venues down, as well as a showcase for tried and tested work.
We will be back next week with more projects, you can tweet us @funnywomen or contact us on Facebook if you have a project you want us to share…
