Getting into the final is obviously a huge confidence boost for a fairly new comedienne. And a big step up from my first ever London gig this time last year last year when, on a red wine infused surge of confidence, I drunkenly crashed the Funny Women heats and slurred my way through five minutes – remembering nothing of it 'til I made the long list. Quite a success maybe, but it's also incredibly nice to know that I can make people laugh while I’m sober.
So, a big thank you to Funny Women for having me back when what I actually anticipated was more like a life-time ban!
I'm originally from Nottingham, but seven years in Liverpool has earned me official 'honorary scouser' status – yet thankfully not affected my accent too much. So my set consists mainly of observations from a Northern girl living in London, sprinkled with an anecdote or two about being half brown… what?! they like it!
I would like to give special thanks to the drunks in South London and my ever politically incorrect parents for the material that has gotten me this far. I look forward to seeing you at the finals.
