It’s no surprise to us at Funny Women that Harriet Dyer’s show is selling out this Fringe but if you are fortunate/well organised enough to grab a ticket for Easily Distra… you are in for such a treat!

After watching Dyer’s work over the years, most recently headlining the Sean Lock comedy awards as the previous year’s winner, I was delighted to nab a last-minute ticket at Monkey Barrel Comedy. Dyer was as charming, hilarious and lovably loopy as ever as she let us into her wonderful world of chaos.

Dyer is a gifted anecdotal storyteller with exceptional wit and a master of “pulling the rug” from under your feet…wherever you think the story is going – it’s not! So, provided you can keep up with the many twists and turns of where her distractions take her, you can easily immerse yourself in her way of thinking whilst your ribs ache with laughter.

Without going through her set blow by blow and ruining any punchlines (not that I think I could if I tried!) what I will say is her warmth of delivery makes you feel completely safe as her audience. Dyer’s charmingly befuddled delivery, teamed with gleeful self-mockery is fun, free and as daft as a brush.

Catch Easily Distra… at The Monkey Barrel Comedy (Cabaret Voltaire) daily at 20:35 until 30th August. Tickets here.
