The lineup for Amazon’s stand-up showcase Backstage With Katherine Ryan has been announced! Comedy stars taking part include some of Katherine’s fellow Funny Women Awards alumni, Sarah Millican, Sara Pascoe, Desiree Burch and Rosie Jones.
Other acts who have taken part are Sue Perkins, Joanne McNally, Judi Love, Michelle de Swarte, and our matron Jo Brand.
The acts have recorded their sets at London’s Roundhouse for the series which will be coming to Amazon Prime next year.
Ryan said: “After having nearly two years of cancelled gigs, comics are as eager to get backstage as they are to get on stage again. That’s why I’m absolutely thrilled to be working alongside Amazon Prime Video and the brilliant team at Expectation to launch Backstage With Katherine Ryan,
“We’ll be taking you with us behind the curtain and into our sacred space so you can share in the candid hilarity that happens before and after a gig. It’s a whole new way to experience the magic of stand-up.”
Backstage With Katherine Ryan will air footage not just of the acts performing but of them hanging out backstage, revealing pre and post-show rituals and comedians analysing their material.
