Funny Women

Comedians aren’t just at risk of cabin fever during this time of social distancing and self-isolation, gig cancellations have meant not just loss of earnings but also fewer chances to try out new material or build audiences. However, being a creative lot, comedians have been flexing their comedy muscles online, using YouTube, Twitch, Twitter and other sites to connect with audiences, new and established alike. To help you get your comedy fix, every week we’ll be putting together a list of projects we’ve spotted online by funny women…

Funny Women digital creative strategist Mariana Feijó wears many hats, she is also a comedian, scientist and now she’s added podcaster to the mix! In her new podcast, Doughty, Mariana talks with guests about what bravery means to them and special moments in which they have been brave. Guests will chat about those moments when they have been brave, or even just gone slightly out of their comfort zone while discussing what does it even mean to be brave! You can listen to the show here!

Noble failures ACMS are putting on a fantastic show featuring some of our favourite comedians, Sophie Duker, Siân Docksey, Yuriko Kotani, Isy Suttie, Deborah Frances-White and more TONIGHT! To watch via a private YouTube link click here!

We spied some Funny Women favourites in this hilarious video made to help fundraise for the Trussell Trust, an excellent cause. Esther Manito, Jenny Collier, Cally Beaton among others all contribute to this spoof charity advert for a real charity. Watch the video then donate here.

We will be back next week with more projects, you can tweet us @funnywomen or contact us on Facebook if you have a project you want us to share… Check out last week’s picks here!
