In our regular ‘Sharon Horgan taking on a new project’ section, Sharon Horgan is set to star alongside Kristin Scott Thomas in a new film based on the Military Wives Choir, called Military Wives.
The Catastrophe creator said: “I tried to talk them out of giving me this part because I can’t really sing. But they just said “Pierce Brosnan” and so here I am.”
Kristen Scott Thomas commented: “This is the kind of film I love to do; it will make people laugh, and make people cry, touching on the subject of families who are often forgotten”.
Written by Rosanne Flynn and Rachel Tunnard, the film celebrates the wives of service personnel who turned to music to take their minds off their partners in combat. The real-life Military Wives choir have had two number one hits and performed for the Queen at the Royal Albert Hall.
Recently Sharon also revealed she will be directing her first feature film, a big-screen version of The New World, a novel about a man whose head is cryogenically frozen. In addition to this Sharon is has the task of writing and starring in an as yet untitled new comedy for Amazon, playing a woman who launches a self-help company. So…surely her diary is all blocked out now.
