Miranda Hart says no to Miranda

It seems us Miranda fans have got a little ahead of ourselves. Miranda Hart has taken to Twitter to quash rumours of a new series being imminent. The Sun paper had said Miranda had been convinced by the BBC to make a return after six years. However the comic tweeted: “Not true.”

The Sun’s source had said: “Miranda has always been a huge hit on the BBC so getting her to sign up for another outing is a great result for them and viewers… All parties have come to an agreement and it’ll be back later this year if all goes to plan.”

Responding to the story Miranda said: “Don’t know where this came from, it’s news to me. Have thought about it but that’s all…

“I don’t know where it came from that there’s a new series of Miranda. I write and play her and she’s still on honeymoon!”

However it’s not just the BBC and The Sun who are keen to see where the chaotic sitcom character may be now, Tom Ellis, who plays Miranda’s husband Gary on the show has expressed an interest in seeing where the couple are now. Even Miranda’s BFF Stevie, played by Sarah Hadland, added to the rumours saying “there will be something” regarding a cast reunion. Perhaps she just meant Christmas drinks…

We suspect right now Miranda is simply too busy to catch up with Miranda and Gary, with an appearance in a Hollywood film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms coming up and no doubt more books and presenting gigs to come…
