This Edinburgh Festival Fringe doesn’t just see the very first Funny Woman Pop Up Fringe, but Olivia Lee ('Balls of Steel', 'Dirty, Sexy, Funny') will be making her debut as Madonna uber-fan Lesley in Zoe Lewis’s play ‘Touched…Like a Virgin’. After a highly successful run at London’s Soho Theatre last year, actress Sadie Frost has relinquished the role of Lesley to Olivia Lee.

Fantastic and hilarious” ***** – Daily Mirror
A beautifully constructed one-woman show”**** Daily Telegraph

Zoe Lewis’s one woman show traces Mancunian Lesley’s fandom of Madonna from the age of 14 to 37, when Lesley worries she’s forgotten to grow up. After a lifetime of living up to the Material Girl standard and remaining faithful to each Madonna reinvention, Lesley has reached her late 30s and is feeling somewhat disillusioned.

“…the script is sparkling. Tackling the kind of female issues that Sex and the City dresses up in Manolos and makes light of, Lewis tackles feminism and all it's problems with a dogged tenacity. The real genius, however is in underpinning the narrative with ditties that are immediately recognisable internationally.” The Huffington Post

A member of the ‘have-it-all-ended-up-with-sod-all’ generation, Lesley’s looking for answers that Madonna and TV show ‘Sex and the City’ just didn’t provide. Suddenly Lesley’s not partying with her friends, but her friend’s now adult children. Which reminds her…she forgot to have children.

‘Touched…Like a Virgin’ shows Lesley grow from a 14 year old desperately seeking to lose her virginity, to a 20-something who, inspired by Kate Moss, gets into the groove every night to a 30-something who wants to open up her heart and have a baby through artificial insemination. It’s human nature. All to the sounds of Madonna hits throughout the years

Star of ‘Touched…’ Olivia Lee can’t wait to show us what it feels like for a girl: “I'm tremendously excited to play Madonna's number one fan/stalker in Zoe Lewis's wonderfully funny one woman play 'Touched'. I was certainly touched when I read it and I hope when you see it you will be too!
