Here at Funny Women HQ we’re always delighted when we get news about an act that we think deserves huge and unadulterated success so we were particularly happy with Bridget Christie’s latest news.
Those lovely peeps at BBC Radio 4 have commissioned a four part series from Bridget, “all about women's shit, which is my new thing.” And if you live in London, she suggests that you try and get free tickets to the recordings at the BBC Radio Theatre on 8th and 15th February, or 2nd and 10th March. Bridget is keen to get as many fans in as possible “before all the tickets go to non-fans, as it is a radio show, and I need some laughter that doesn't sound sarcastic.” Get your tickets HERE.
Bridget also makes an appearance in Anna and Katy's forthcoming sketch show (Channel 4), due to hit the small screen in the next couple of months. Look out for a very strange-looking fan with terrible 1980s hair and clothes (very Tina in Sightseers). Plus two parts in Kevin Eldon's Television Show (BBC2), and various spots on The Alternative Comedy Experience (Comedy Central).
As well as all this amazing television exposure there are only two more outings of Bridget’s brilliant five-star Edinburgh Fringe show, War Donkey, on Tuesday 12th February at the Leicester Comedy Festival and at the Women of the World Festival on the Southbank (Purcell Room) on Saturday 9th March.
If you can’t wait for these then Bridget has some ‘new material nights’ coming up to warm up for her radio show with the promise of more dates being added over the next few weeks. There are details about all this and more HERE on her website.
Catch Bridget while you can! We’ve been predicting her stardom ever since we first saw her in the Funny Women Awards in 2004.
