At the start of the show, we were advised it might be stopped midway through to clean up the water that could build up inside, due to the heavy rain and bad insulation at the venue. The audience was small, but clearly so keen to see Alice Snedden, that they made it in, despite the diluvian rain. Snedden had everyone on her side.

In Absolute Monster, Snedden guides us through her life. While she wonders about her life choices and goes through moments of self doubt, she entertains us with some hilarious anecdotes of sex dreams and masturbation, told in great detail. Not one to be shy myself, it was my first time raising my hand in public to admit to insomnia curing masturbation, as Alice Snedden, masterfully gets the audience comfortable to share back their secrets.

The show is an almost philosophical exploration of what makes people good or bad, and whether Snedden herself is as wholesome as she truly believes she is. Well constructed and confidently delivered, Absolute Monster is a great hour of comedy that also makes you think.
