Jayde Adams show hits you like a thunderbolt. Dynamic and bold she is unafraid and unabashed and takes her audience on like a matador tackling a bull. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Jade connects dynamically with the audience – hitting them with wicked one-liners and relentless ego-driven energy.
She is accompanied on the piano by Richard Thomas, the highly talented co-creator of Jerry Springer the Opera. The Divine Ms Jayde could be compared to this controversial hit show, both in its operatic style and its hard-hitting sense of humour.
Jayde’s performance is bold, unapologetic, and dynamic playing her audience to perfection as she attacks us with her ribald biographical chat. A great character and style was established from the very top of the show and Jayde’s connection with the audience was fantastic and relentless. It was also very refreshing to see a female performer demonstrating such great body confidence and a positive message, both in her costume and her attitude.
Jayde was also ably assisted by her sidekick, ‘Gimp’ played by Rich Wilson who proved to be an excellent, funny addition to the show. Camp style rides high as Jayde hits use with her glittering stand-up. Jayde is the winner of the 2014 Funny Women Awards and 2016 nominee for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, with this electric stage presence it is easy to see why. Described by Dawn French as “the third funniest woman in the world” the future of female comedy is bright, when you witness a performance as dynamic as Jayde Adams.
