Jo Brand is pitting Women’s Institutes against each other in a special one-off BBC quiz show, WIQ.
There are 6,300 Women’s Institutes in the UK with just under a quarter of a million members. Jo Brand will present the quiz and we will hear two WIs from Manchester and Cambridge respectively, compete to take the crown as the first WI group to pit their knowledge, wit, wisdom and of course, IQ against each other.
As the UK celebrates 100 years of partial suffrage for women and 90 years of universal suffrage when equal voting rights were guaranteed to men and women, the BBC says it “feels like a fitting time to celebrate the coming together of women in the spirit of friendship, support, education and of course, laughter.”
