Every January, I make some New Year’s resolutions. By February, I’ve usually given up on most of them. ‘Change my hairstyle’: achievable. ‘Try not to cry while eating chocolate, because it’s ruined too many onesies at this point’: not so much.

While I was wondering what to work towards this year, a new and timely YouTube clip from Pure & Weary dropped into my inbox.

As it turns out, you can reach your yearly goals in minutes! An idea tempting enough to make me close my ‘chocolate-coloured onesies’ Google search results tab.

Between them, Pure & Weary tick off 12 common resolutions in about a minute and a half. You go, girls. Take a look:

That’s nothing short of amazing. A resolution for every month of 2017, smashed.

This brave, honest video shows that you can achieve big things with a little creativity. And that said creativity might freak out your local pharmacist.

Whatever your aims are this year, I feel like many of us are glad to be leaving 2016 behind. The very end of that clip proves Pure & Weary feel the same way.

It wasn’t all bad last year, really. I mean, we were blessed with the now legendary female empowerment anthem YAS KWEEN. That alone brought 2016 up from ‘WTF is happening?’ to ‘could’ve been WAY worse’.

I suspect Pure & Weary made a real New Year’s resolution to pretend 2016 never happened. It’d sure explain why they’re putting on a 1920s-themed show next week. ‘Roaring in our 20s’ looks like it’ll be a riotous as a particularly excited Flapper.

If you happen to be in Chicago – and what an appropriate city for it – on the 12th, go see them! The rest of us can keep up on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as usual.
