Limmy will be appearing at the London Film Festival where there will be a screening 600 of Limmy’s Vines. Limmy was an early adopter of Vine to showcase his unique and deliriously disturbing insight into the existential terrors of the 21st century, with paranoia, mental illness, sexuality, boredom and the Internet all coming under scrutiny in hundreds of these six-second-long films. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Limmy, hosted by Armando Iannucci on 12th January.
The London Film Festival will open with New Shorts: Funny Shit on the 6th January at the ICA. This will include the hilarious short film by filmmakers Sophie Ansell and Annie Jenkins, Funemployed.
The short is about a masochistic girl who is saved from a life of scrounging and skiving after she develops an obsessive crush on David Cameron. Totally irreverent in tone, Funemployed exploits whimsical pop-video imagery to playfully present a dreamworld of jobseeking far removed from the grey reality of being young, broke and directionless.
On the 12th of January at the Moth Club the festival continues with New Shorts: Sketch Night & Live Comedy featuring a short from stand-up Charlotte Regan, Standby.
Gary and Jenny share the same cramped “office space” as all beat cops: the front seat of a patrol car. Their evolving relationship is an emotional rollercoaster ride that stands in often-comedic contrast to the procession of thugs and criminals filling the back seat…
We can’t wait!
