Nottingham is putting women in comedy centre stage this November, with a packed programme of workshops, industry insights and live performances celebrating female and non-binary comedy talent.
On Saturday 7th November, Funny Women Midlands Regional Producer Kelly Griffiths joins forces with East Midlands comedian Lauren Buck for a special Women in Comedy Day at The Barley Twist, Nottingham, as part of Nottingham Comedy Festival.
Starting at 12:30pm, the event brings together performers, industry professionals and comedy enthusiasts for a day of creativity, confidence-building and connection, followed by an evening variety showcase.
Championing Comedy Talent in the Midlands
Kelly launched The Tits Comedy in April 2025 to create more opportunities for women and non-binary performers across the Midlands. Through inclusive events, industry connections and supportive performance spaces, she’s helping emerging talent develop their craft and reach new audiences.
Since joining Funny Women as Midlands Regional Producer, Kelly has also brought our Glitter Project workshops to the region, making comedy development and confidence-building more accessible without the need to travel to London.
She’s also supported major Funny Women events, including the Glitter Project Platinum edition and our recent Glitter Challenge performances at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Kelly Griffiths, Funny Women Midlands Regional Producer, says: “I’m delighted to be back at NCF, once again shining the light on the immense female talent we have in the Midlands. The support Funny Women continue to give The Tits Comedy is invaluable and I’m thrilled to have their inclusion during our Women in Comedy day.”

Lauren Buck, comedian and co-host, adds: “There are so many great funny women in the East Midlands and it’s so nice to be able to showcase them and show the rest of the UK that there’s a bucket load of talent here! Being a local it gives me great pride to put this event on with the incredible woman that is Kelly Griffiths and have Funny Women backing us. It’s amazing what we can do when we support each other!”

The celebrations don’t stop there!
