I first saw Alison Thea-Skot and her show Some Like it Alison Thea-Skot towards the end of the Edinburgh Fringe last year. I laughed the entire way through. I don’t mean I laughed at every joke, I mean I just laughed the entire way through. Unceasingly. Like I thought I might die. I also thought…am I simply tired? Do I really find a woman dressed in bin bag spilling a glass of wine over herself so hysterical? Or is this just festival fever?
I saw the show again at Brighton Komedia and I am so pleased to confirm that I was not suffering from some festival induced fever. This show is ridiculous and ridiculously funny. Alison Thea-Skot isn’t just brave, she’s fearless. So much of the show has you on the edge of your seat thinking: there’s no way this is going to work, I won’t find this new character funny. And then you do. You might think you are sophisticated and fancy, but you will laugh at the sight of Michael Bolton’s balls being held aloft. You just will.
Some Like it Thea-Skot doesn’t make sense, but it is funny. I hope to hear some of these characters in Radio 4 6.30 comedy slot soon and you can see her new Edinburgh Preview Show ‘It’s Thea-Skot in Here! (So take off all your clothes!)‘ on the Good Ship Benefit during the Funny Women Festival 2016! Book your tickets NOW!
