Mrs. Barbara Nice, our favourite comedian to play Grandma’s footsteps with, is soon to star in her own eponymous BBC Radio 2 show. In it Barbara is concerned that she and Ken (Mr Nice, played by John Henshaw) are at risk of becoming “silver splitters” having found they have little in common.

Ken wants to spend his retirement watching Pointless on TV, which doesn’t match up to Barbara’s vision of a well spent golden age. So when a homeless Spanish busker (David Sant) needs some help Barbara sees it as he perfect opportunity to do some good and stir things up home . Of course she’ll get more than she expected!

Julia McKenzie, Acting Head of BBC Radio Comedy, said: “Radio 2 continues to nurture and support new comedy, and it is fantastic to be able to bring such a range of comedic talent and Showcases to the network.”

We can’t wait to hear the show and we will be tuning in to BBC Radio 2 at 10 on Wednesday 18th November! If you can’t wait that long for Barbara Nice, hear her creator Janice Connelly being hilarious about hedgehogs among other subjects on today’s Midweek.
