If you were inspired by our 2015 Funny Women Awards comedy shorts winner Rachel Marwood’s winning film Defrosted to realise your own film shorts ambitions then you need to get going! The HERE film festival in association with Short Sighted Cinema deadline for the short film award is almost here.

Four lucky filmmakers will win £500 each to produce a short film based in, or featuring, south Enfield. Creativity and storytelling is at the heart of the festival and the commission is open to all styles and forms of filmmaking including comedy, drama, animation and original documentary.

The films should explore elements of suburban life, embracing locality while expressing individual artistry. There is also mentorship available from six award winning film makers and last year’s winners. Each has helped to coach and hone the skills of others and all live locally, including Marc Isaacs and Ian Emes.
