Not only is Jonathan Ross back on our screens but he chose to kick off his eighth series of ITV's 'The Jonathan Ross Show' with none other than 2008 Funny Women Awards winner Katherine Ryan as one of his guests. Katherine sat alongside the very funny Caroline Quentin, Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Take That.

Katherine was on the show to promote her extended tour of her stand up show 'Glam Role Model'. It focuses on her fascination with celebrity and the British tabloids from her perspective as a Canadian. Katherine told Jonathan that even though she is from a small town she is not the biggest star to emerge from her part of Canada, for now apparently Justin Bieber is just trumping her to the 'most famous' post – but we are positive she will catch up.

The glam role model also revealed that Jonathan Ross and '8 out of 10 Cats' host Jimmy Carr have a fan in her five year old daughter Violet, who is allowed to watch her mum on TV. Violet has had an early introduction to comedy, accompanying her mother when she was 21 weeks to Latitude Festival because, as Katherine explained: "I didn't know it would be difficult to have a newborn… I brought her on stage in her carrier but I didn't have any material on being a new mum, so I just didn't mention her.."

Her daughter has proved an excellent source of material and hilarious anecdotes of her surprise Englishness and sage advice also features in Katherine's show 'Glam Role Model'.
