This Wednesday 14th January we will be catching up with some old Funny Women alumni at the charity event Raise a Laugh for Refuge. The fantastic line up features the witty writer for the Guardian and Stylist magazine Lucy Mangan and some familiar faces to Funny Women.

2004 Funny Women Awards finalists Bridget Christie and Roisin Conaty – who have gone from strength to strength since entering the Awards – will be raising plenty of laughs as will 2008 Funny Women Awards runner up and finalist respectively Sara Pascoe and Pippa Evans.

We are also looking forward to seeing Lucy Porter who has compered for our showcases in the past and even interviewed our founder Lynne Parker on her podcast with comedian Sarah Kendall 'Girl Riot'

Winner of the 2012 Radio 2 New Comedy Award and Funny Women Showcase regular Lucy Beaumont is on the line up alongside the 2011 Funny Women Awards semi-finalist Ellie Taylor who has since hosted the BBC3 show 'Snog Marry Avoid'

After the huge success of her shows 'What Would Beyonce Do?' and 'Am I Right Ladies?' you should also make sure you catch 2009 Funny Women Awards entrant Luisa Omielan who will also be helping raise laughs and money for Refuge

It's for a great cause, Refuge charity is very close to our hearts and we are proud to see so many funny women join together to help the cause.
