Funny Women Awards winner 2008 Katherine Ryan has been on our screens a lot lately on all of our favourite comedy quiz panel shows and she’s about the grace our screens again in BBC3 sitcom ‘Badults’.
Katherine will be adding a little “sexual tension” to the show, playing Matthew Crosby’s co-worker Lucy. The Badults said: “We've been fans of Katherine's comedy for ages but rather than go up and talk to her – girls intimidate us – we decided to cast her in our TV show.”
There might be sexual tension in store for Katherine’s character Lucy, but will there be romance? “Lucy and Matthew have a sort-of "will they? won't they?" relationship. Matthew thinks they will. Lucy knows they won't. It's like Ross and Rachel if Rachel hated Ross and Ross was weirdly turned-on by that.”
As the latest member of the cast Katherine has a game plan: “When my regular gig as a stand-up comedian doesn't go my way, I only humiliate myself, whereas now I have an entire team to potentially let down. I'm really looking forward to it…Although, it's become pretty clear that none of them fancies me. Not even the ugly one.”
Katherine will be joined by another Funny Women Awards winner Gemma Whelan who won our 2010 Variety Award is also set to feature in the new series of 'Badults', we can’t wait to see it when it airs.
