Twisted Loaf: On the Rise

Fearless, dishevelled, sheer. These are some of the words that could sum up Funny Women Awards 2013 winners Twisted Loaf's new show 'Half Baked' at the Leicester Square Theatre

It was a night of glamour for Leicester Square, as Twisted Loaf was sharing the theatre with Joan Collins, it's a toss up between who wore the most glitter but no contest on who put on the most glittering performance. Joan, she really was very glittery that night but Twisted Loaf definitely got the most laughs.

Twisted Loaf, Libby Northedge and Nina Smith, have come up with a whole raft of new and hilarious characters to join their fantastic 'Made in Chelsea' inspired characters (we're still not sure if Joshie with the eyebrows really exists). From put upon Northern wives who have money wasting children and alarmingly kind spouses to a care worker who dares to dream whilst caring for an elderly gentleman and a pair of friends relaxing a little too much. There is much cavorting, crotches and creative alliteration that adds a little sauce to the show.

It is rare to see a comedy pair indulge themselves in such raucous fun whilst still engaging the audience, but Twisted Loaf pulls it off with aplomb. They endear themselves to the audience so much that the front row were still laughing even when Nina and Libby were absolutely spitting blood.
