Vicky Arlidge never thought, in a million years, that she'd be taking up musical comedy in her forties. A mother of two toddlers, she'd resigned herself to burning fish fingers and retrieving banana skins from the washing machine for the foreseeable future. But in 2011, after dealing with one tantrum too many, she wrote a song called 'Mum, can you wipe my bum?' that went viral on YouTube. 27,000 hits and several more songs later she found myself at the Edinburgh Fringe with a sombrero, a fake moustache and sixty toilet rolls.
On reaching the final 3 nominees for Funny Women's Best Show Award for Mum, Can You Wipe My Bum, Vicky said:
"I'm thrilled to be nominated for the Funny Women Best Show 2013 award. It makes pacing up the Royal Mile in a toilet seat costume for two weeks all worth while. And it gets me one step closer to my goal; becoming the next Victoria Wood. I do of course already have the first name, now all I have to do is find a Mr Wood and marry him."
