Funny Women readers will remember that back in March our executive producer, Lynne Parker, went out to Boston to visit the Women In Comedy Festival. It was fantastic for us to get to see some international female comic talent – and a reminder that funny women are everywhere!

Newly discovered this week in the Funny Women office are the fantastic CHEAPSMOKES, a sketch duo who are starting to make a name for themselves on the US comedy circuit. Having met on the Humber Comedy Program in Toronto, the two quickly formed an unstoppable partnership. After performing in sketch festivals all over Montreal and Toronto, including showcasing at Just for Laughs and making the final of Sketch-Com-Aggedon, the girls moved to LA four months ago and have been making waves in the city’s comedy scene ever since.

If you’re not lucky enough to be Stateside soon to catch one of their gigs, you can watch new videos from the duo every week on their Youtube channel. We particularly love That Time the Cat Call Worked and 2 Coma Girls, but we can’t wait to see what they do next!

Remember, you heard about them here first!

Check out CHEAPSMOKE's artist page HERE, or visit their Youtube channel HERE to see the girls in action.
