At Funny Women HQ, we love supporting great comedy – especially when it’s right on our doorstep! Our local theatre, The Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond, are very close to our hearts – they hosted our Charity Comedy Night back in January and have been a longterm venue for our Funny Women Awards. We can’t wait to see their brilliant new play The Seven Year Twitch, which starts a month-long run on the 22nd May.
Written and directed by David Lewis, whose previous plays include Misconceptions and How To Be Happy, The Seven Year Twitch is a comedy of marital disharmony and birdwatching. Whilst Fran hosts a dinner party and cooks an aubergine parmigiana, husband Terry fails to turn up – mainly because he’s in Norfolk searching for a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher. This final straw in their seven-year marriage sees friends, therapists and even the birds themselves try to salvage an increasingly escalating crisis with hilarious consequences.
Featuring top comic performances from a cast of funny women (and men!) alongside a top new script, this is one not to miss!
The Seven Year Twitch runs from Wednesday 22nd May – Saturday 22nd June at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond. For more information and to book tickets, click HERE.
