Combining absurdly physical comedy with a riot of colourful characters, Heffernan and Fletcher’s first outing as a duo sees them try to keep their jobs in the world’s most volatile company.

Having co-founded The History Girls in 2008, Derby-based comediennes Megan Heffernan and Sophie Fletcher have a track record for creating work that dazzles critics and audiences alike. Along with filming a series of sketches for BBC Online, they are winners of an Audience Award at Manchester’s Co-Filmic Festival (2011) and were semi-finalists in the Laughing Horse New Act Competition (2010). 2012 saw a nomination for the Best Show Award at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival, and a sell out run at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

‘The Competition’ is their debut show as a double act, and marks a collaboration with the Soho Theatre and Derby Live.

Heffernan and Fletcher will be performing at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival, Manhattan 34, Rutland St., 8th/9th and 15th/16th February at 7.45pm.
