Vanessa is founder of We Are the City, and this is what she said before she took to the stage:
"Of all the things I have ever taken on both in my career and personal life, this one has to be the most scary. There is a difference in being funny as part of your general personality and then having to do it on demand !!
"I have this picture in my head of standing on stage like an Xfactor contestant, I open with what I think is a funny line and then….. deadly silence… I have decided that if that happens I am just going to fake a fit, get carried off, make a miracolous recovery in the ambulance and get the paramedics to drop me off at the nearest bus stop.
"All joking aside and despite my fears, I am looking forward to the Challenge as I know it will take me out of my comfort zone, improve my presence on stage and above all, raise money for a very worthy cause. I have always been a fan of Funny Women and I absolutely support the great work they do in terms of encouraging women in to comedy and giving women confidence through the use of humour. I am absolutely honoured to be taking part and to share the stage with so many other wonderful women, I will do whatever is required to deliver what is expected of me and above all, make everyone laugh ! So here's to three months of sleepness nights and early morning phone calls to my mentee!"
Vanessa is being supported by her own Network, We Are The City, and raising funds for Wellbeing of Women. She will also be running the marathon so please give generously.
