Lynne Parker, founder and executive producer of Funny Women, has been nominated for the Inspirational Woman Award in the inaugural Ladies at 11 Business Awards sponsored by NatWest.
The Awards take place on Friday 7th October at Sandown Park and there are seven awards to be given out to deserving women in business.
The Inspirational Woman Award has been sponsored by MDM Associates and will be given to the woman who has overcome personal hurdles e.g. financial restrictions, social, personal or skills challenges, to succeed in her chosen business.
Lynne will also be hosting the Awards so she describes her nomination as a second unexpected privilege. ‘I was thrilled to be considered inspirational enough to present these Awards, so the nomination for an Award is a real extra confidence boost! Business success is mainly judged on financial performance rather than building something for posterity or how passionate you are. I totally confess to wearing my heart on my sleeve with Funny Women!
"I have faced up to some major personal hurdles over the last few years. For example, it does get harder growing older as a woman in business but I am lucky to work in an industry that transcends age, and where the only thing that really matters is talent. I am most proud of the fact that I work with women of all ages.
"Through Funny Women I’ve actually found my voice and use it to speak up for issues that I believe in and work with charities and organisations that can benefit from humour. To be described as inspirational is truly an honour."
The evening will include a champagne & canape reception, three course dinner and the Awards Ceremony. A raffle will be held in aid of Eaves4Women Charity. The evening is open to all women in business, their partners & friends. BOOK HERE.
