It is incredibly rare for UK Parliament to launch an inquiry into the comedy sector and for us to have the opportunity to submit written evidence. It is even rarer to get a deadline extension.
UK comedy body CRAFT made it one of its first important missions to request and secure the extension so that more of the comedy industry could have their voices heard.
New Deadline: 11:59pm this Friday 15th June 2026
Please submit any evidence here.
Submitting evidence can be tough, but it can also be liberating. One thing is for sure; nothing will ever change if we don’t take opportunities like this to participate.
This isn’t just a women’s issue; it’s an industry-wide issue.
Evidence is requested from all genders, men as well as women from all areas of comedy: performance, writing, production, broadcast, stage, promotion and management.
The Women and Equalities House of Commons Committees is looking for evidence on:
• Career barriers and the challenges of freelance work.
• The prevalence of sexism, misogyny, and harassment.
• How disclosures are handled and whether perpetrators face consequences.
You can request complete anonymity (your evidence is public but your name/identifying details are removed) or strict confidentiality (only viewed by the Committee in private).
Let’s use this rare window to build a safer, fairer, and more supportive industry for everyone. Please submit, and please share.
Well done to all the women who recently stood up for comedy in Parliament, including Funny Women founder Lynne Parker. You can watch the latest session or read the updates here.
