The Comedy Crowd, our comedy comrades and now partners for our 2022 Funny Women Industry Award, have just launched their annual Chorts! competition.
The search is on for the best comedy sketches in under two minutes, introducing an exciting new comedy character or concept and talented new creators. Check out the best Chorts from the 2019 ‘Chortlist‘ and 2020 ‘Chortlist‘ to get an idea.
The submission window for Chorts 2022 is open now until Friday 30th September 2022. The Comedy Crowd Team and a committee of comedy creators will then select a ‘Chortlist’ of entries to be reviewed by an exciting industry judging panel including Funny Women founder Lynne Parker, who will help select the overall winners.
There are some exciting prizes for the best entries:
All ‘Chortlist’ entries will be shared on the Comedy Crowd YouTube and Facebook channels, and the creators will automatically be enrolled in the Comedy Crowd Top Talent group receiving exclusive commissioned opportunities.
The overall winner as selected by industry judges will receive a cash prize of £250.
There will also be a separate prize of £250 for the Chort with the most views, likes and engagement on Comedy Crowd channels after the first week.
The best entries will be screened at a special Comedy Crowd awards event later in 2022.
