2014 Funny Women Awards finalist, actor and writer Samantha Baines has written her second children’s book. Due to be published in August, The Night the Moon Went Out is about a girl called Aneira who, like Baines, wears a hearing aid.
Aneira is super scared of the dark. When the moon suddenly goes out one night, Aneira is on a mission to turn it back on! With the help of her owl friend, Aneira sets off on a journey to fix the moon and overcome her fear. This powerful story features beautiful black-and-white illustrations by Lucy Rogers.
Baines enjoyed great success with her debut book for children, Harriet Versus the Galaxy, which was listed in the Independent’s Best Children’s Books of the Year 2019 and in BookTrust’s Great Book Guide 2020. Samantha is an Ambassador for the Royal National Institute for Deaf people and a former Ambassador for the British Tinnitus Association.
