What’s better than one funny woman? Easy, three funny women which is what The Travelling Sisters are. In these turbulent times, what we need is a little silliness and this comedy trio has that in droves. This sold-out show was a real crowd pleaser and full of energy.
A mishmash of songs, sketches and onstage costume changes – resulting in everyone’s PE nightmare of one member of the team losing her trousers and having to go ahead and perform in her pants – the sisters portray various whimsical characters that all require a sturdy bra and a big pant.
Toupé appears to be a mix of old and new, with a sketch inspired by the easy confidence older women seem to have in a gym changing room and an old hit in which I’m pleased to see Elle has been promoted from left bosom. The trio are a masterclass in clowning and have each other’s backs the whole way through the show.
Brilliant fun, if you need a lift now we’re coming towards the end of the Fringe I highly recommend you see this!
