BBC Radio 4 has announced it will broadcast never-before-heard (never-heard-before? Heard-before-never?) material from the late Victoria Wood.
In a two-part series, Victoria Wood: From Soup to Nuts, the station will broadcast stand up and songs from the legendary comedian’s own archives and tapes – some of which has never been heard by the public before!
Radio 4 said: “With unprecedented access to Victoria Wood’s own boxes of battered cassette tapes, this show is a shameless chance to hear some wonderful stand-up comedy, characters and songs, looking back at what made her so funny and so universally loved.”
The episodes have been produced by David Tyler from production outfit Pozzitive, who had worked with Victoria on various projects. The show will be presented by Rebecca Front and will air on BBC Radio 4 on Friday 18th May at 11.30am, ahead of Victoria Wood’s birthday on the 19th.
