This year’s Sky Arts Halloween comedy shorts have been announced and this year they are especially scary because they will be directed by an all women line up! Funny Women Awards winner Andi Osho, Jessica Knappett, Evelyn Mok are just some of the stars in this set of spooky stories, curated by the Merman production company’s Sharon Horgan (of Catastrophe) and Clelia Mountford.
Sharon said: “Finding strong female voices has always been important to us at Merman because there’s still an imbalance there to address. To be able to champion these women through Sky’s comedy shorts was a great opportunity.”
Sky’s comedy chief Jon Mountague says: “This series of shorts has been created by a brilliant cohort of all-female directors who are bringing something new, exciting and refreshing to the comedy line-up on Sky. We hope to encourage more women to get involved with directing, writing and all technical roles in comedy.”
You can see the films on Sky on Demand from 23rd October, they will also air on Sky Arts on 31st October.
