Since winning the 2016 Funny Women Awards, Harriet Braine has gone from strength to strength, making time to be come a professor leading art history lectures at the (university of) Golf Tavern for the duration of the Edinburgh Fringe.
An hour of songs about art, artists and art movements could be unrelatable and laboured, however in Harriet’s hands, it is light and very witty. The audience on Wednesday was very varied, with two teenagers in the front row, but everybody lapped up her songs about Diego Rivera, Monet, Manet, Tracey Emin and more.
And, as you might expect from an art expert, Harriet’s Edinburgh Fringe poster is brilliant and probably my favourite of the Fringe.
Highlights for me include Harriet’s reminiscences of her days as an intern and her ‘sea cindy’. You see; learning is fun when you know the secret!
