The BBC have announced that Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are set to be the new hosts of the Generation Game.
This revived series of the Generation Game will pick up where the last series left off, with relatives competing in pairs to complete various challenges all in the hope of getting to that famous conveyor belt of prizes. There is one new feature though, a panel of celebrity judges will be providing the scores for the couples.
Guy Freeman, from programme-makers BBC Studios, said: “When asked, this is the TV show that viewers most wanted to see back on their screens and so we are thrilled to be able to make that happen with Mel and Sue, who I know will have just as much fun hosting it as contestants will playing it.”
Miranda Hart has been tipped as the new host, even filming a pilot of the show, however the comedian decided she needed to prioritise writing and acting. So it’s Mel and Sue who will be following in the footsteps of previous hosts Bruce Forsyth, Larry Grayson and Jim Davidson.
