Mae Martin, Christine Entwisle, Katherine Jakeways, Olivia Nixon and Felicity Montagu all have shows shortlisted in the BBC Audio Drama Awards.

Mae Martin’s Guide To 21st Century Sexuality which was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 last year won her a nomination for best comedy with a live audience, alongside the Stockport episode of Mark Steel’s In Town and Robert Newman’s Entirely Accurate Encyclopaedia of Evolution.

Guilt Trip, a four part show about a mother and daughter on a sponsored walk, created by and starring Felicity Montagu with her real life daughter Olivia Nixon and Katherine Jakeways has been shortlisted for best scripted comedy.

We are also excited that 2015 Funny Women Comedy Writing Award winner Christine Entwisle’s radio play Secret Kebabs has also been nominated! Secret Kebabs showcases Christine’s knack for finding the comedy in strange situations, this time about a relationship counsellor and a kebab shop owner.

The awards are judged by a team of industry experts, including actor Alison Steadman, journalist Baz Bamigboye and Chortle editor Steve Bennett.

The winners will be announced on Sunday 29th January at the Radio Theatre in BBC Broadcasting House at a ceremony hosted by Lenny Henry.
