The 2017 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction judging panel has been announced! Chaired by CEO of House Productions Tessa Ross, the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction has picked a fantastic array of inspirational women from the worlds of journalism, comedy, film and writing. Joining Tessa on the judging panel are journalist, author and co-founder of The Pool Sam Baker, presenter and broadcaster Katie Derham, Aminatta Forna, award-winning novelist, memoirist and essayist and 2008 Funny Women Awards finalist and 2016 mentor Sara Pascoe, comic and author of the fabulous book Animal.
The prestigious annual book award has been championing women authors of fiction for 22 years. The Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction accepts submissions from any woman writing in English – whatever her nationality, country of residence, age or subject matter. Submitted novels must be published in the UK between 1st April 2016 and 31st March 2017.
The winner will receive a cheque for £30,000 and a limited edition bronze figurine known as a ‘Bessie’, created and donated by the artist Grizel Niven. The Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction 2017 will be awarded on Wednesday 7th June 2017.
