A new story is doing the rounds on social media about a 10 year old girl who reacted badly to her parents truthful answer to her question regarding Santa Claus’s existence. Her mother shared a photo of the letter her child shoved under her door expressing her upset over Santa.

Letter

If you can’t read the writing it wouldn’t surprise me, it says: “You have no idea what you just did. I really tried to belive. Everyone told me its your parents. I can’t belive you anymore. Is the easter bunny real, how bout the tooth fairy huh? you just ruiend a 10 year old childs LIFE thanks.

Nothing will make me feel better u lied to me about somthing I loved that BROKE my heart.”

In case her feelings aren’t clear 10 year old Belle added a #middlefingeremoji. So if Santa was real I don’t think this young lady would be getting anything but coal.

It has a lot of people wondering online; when you should tell your child the terrible truth about Santa? Should you push the Santa myth at all? Shouldn’t a 10 year old have better handwriting than that? At least a better grasp of how many fingers one usually has to a hand. And who believes in the Easter Bunny? HUH?

My mum never made a big deal about Father Christmas, regularly telling us he was really St. Nicholas and he was the bishop of Turkey. In spite of this my older sister believed in Father Christmas until she was around 11, while I was more cynical – mainly because Santa seemed to have awful similar handwriting to my mum.
