Tanyalee Davis: Actual Size

Kate Stone

Tanyalee Davis is a powerhouse who has more to teach us about the endurance of the stand up world than anybody I have met over the last 13 years of my comedy producer career. She has overcome so many obstacles, the least of which is her stature, to be up here gigging for the last week of the Fringe.

I love Tanya’s cheeky sexuality – hitting on the unwitting ‘nicely married’ chap in the front row and flirting with the young ‘I’m-funnier-than-you’ man with spiky hair – which puts us all to shame.  Her ‘tits and big ass’ routine gets everybody on board and by the time the bluer stuff comes along, you are disarmed, charmed and (almost) ready for it.

Tanya is currently spending more time in the UK away from her native North America and her recent appearance on the John Bishop Show has been an enormous boost for her career.  It was great to see her back at the Fringe and her sassy, Transatlantic style of comedy is a masterclass for would be female comedians whatever their age or height. Go see.

You can see Tanyalee Davis at Heroes at the Hive until the 31st August, 4.10pm. For more information click here!
