We asked everyone who visited out stall at this year's Women of the World festival at the Southbank Centre on International Women's Day to tell us who their favourite funny woman was on a card and enter it in our poll.
Over 100 of you took part and we are delighted to tell you the votes are in and one of our favourite funny feminists Jo Brand topped the poll!
Other funny females to top the list were Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bridget Christie, Shappi Khorsandi and double act Mel and Sue.
It was particularly heartwarming to meet fans of some of the many Funny Women alumni we have created over the last 12 years. When we were sifting through the many poll cards we spied the names of Funny Women Awards winners and finalists, such as Katherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, Susan Calman, Zoe Lyons and our 2014 winner Jayde Adams, who all had fans at the WOW Festival!
We had votes in for American Palestinian comic Maysoon Zayid, the multi-talented Angie Lemar the inspiring Tig Notaro and Broad City's Llana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson.
It was a real pleasure discussing humourous women, what makes the ladies laugh and comic confidence with all those who visited our stall – you all know your stuff when it comes to women in comedy!
Some other worthy mentions are 'my mum', who got four votes, three sisters got voted for and a mysterious Anastasia S who got two votes. If anyone knows who this amusing Anastasia is do get in touch. Also we'd like to know more about 'Linda', who got one vote from her four year old fan. Mum tipped us off – Linda cares for her son while she is working so we are very pleased that she makes him laugh!
Our search for more funny women continues with the launch of the 2015 Funny Women Awards coming up very soon in April. If you think you can cut the comedy mustard sign up for our newsletter now!
