Springtime for Farage

In a display of carefully-timed promotion that puts most other events marketing to shame, the publicity bus for ‘The Producers’ rocked up at last week’s UKIP conference in Margate.

At a first glance, sending a team of ‘sexy’ Nazi ladies to a UKIP conference looks like a stroke of genius. It’s almost a shame that the musical is touring and promoting around the UK anyway. But to capitalise on the two events and bring them together is pretty damn good.

While the (authentic) WW2 tank’s turret boomed ‘Springtime for Hitler’ as a sort of noise warfare, the dancers apparently goose-stepped around Margate Lido. If it wasn’t for the fact I feel obligated to report on this for you, I’d be lost for words.

This might be the best coincidence of the year. Whoever decided to milk the publicity at the expense of Nigel Farage should be applauded for their quick thinking.

I suppose the only real downside (for me, at least) is that the troupe of seven sexy Nazis appears to have been all women. It’s hard to tell whether the crowds were more scandalised by the theme or the mix of swastikas with hotpants and crop tops.

Where are the sexy shirtless men? I ask that in the interests of fairness, of course…
