The hilarious and highly insightful stand up comedian and writer Tiff Stevenson is set to make a documentary on the subject of ageing, cosmetic surgery and the perception of women's faces.
The film goes into production this month and is to be heavily inspired by Tiff's 2012 show 'Uncomfortably Numb'. Featuring interviews, animation and stand up comedy the documentary will focus on Tiff's own experience of body dysmorphia, which she began to suffer from as a teenager.
Tiff will investigate how the beauty industry baffles us with jargon and why we are so obsessed with ageing and staying young.
"Sometimes I feel like beauty companies want us at war with our skin: 'Battle the bulge, blitz spots, fights wrinkles' it’s this apocalyptic battle and where will it end? Probably with a Mel Gibson film or maybe with a documentary about reclaiming women’s faces made by me."
Will Tiff succeed in helping women reclaim their faces from the beauty industry? Time will tell…
