Get ready to be tickled green! The London Irish Comedy Festival tent will again play host to a free afternoon of craic and laughter, for all of the family, as part of the Mayor of London's St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations on 16 March 2014 in Trafalgar Square.There’ll be performances from top class established and emerging comedian.
The London Irish Comedy Festival is thrilled to announce that it will again play host to the London Irish Comedy Festival tent as part of the Mayor of London's St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 16 March 2014. The tent features a free afternoon of the best in emerging and established comedic talent from across Ireland and the UK.
MC for the afternoon is Eric Lalor, winner of the entertainment.ie Stand-up of the Year award in 2011 and 2012. The line-up includes; Barry Murphy, star and writer of Ireland’s ‘Irish Pictorial Weekly’ and ‘Après Match’, Roisin Conaty, star of Channel 4’s ‘Man Down’ and BBC Three’s Impractical Jokers Edinburgh Comedy Award, Aisling Bea, Foster’s Best Newcomer Nominee 2013 and winner of the 2012 Foster’s So You Think You’re Funny? Award, Damian Clarke, an Australian comic adopted by Ireland who has featured on Irish television’s ‘Republic of Telly’, Jarlath Regan, an award winning comedian and writer for ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ and the hit Irish panel show, ‘The Panel’, Willa White, who got into comedy in 2005, through the Irish TV programme ‘Joy In The Hood’ and Christiane O’ Mahony, a musical comedienne who plays the harp, who was a UK Musical Comedy Award Quarter Finalist and a Funny Women Awards Semi-Finalist.
The London Irish Comedy Festival Tent will be one of the highlights of London's St. Patrick's Day Celebrations, which will also include the famous parade from Piccadilly to Whitehall, Riverdance 20th Anniversary performance, stars of the hit West End musical 'The Commitments' and an Irish Film Festival in Leicester Square.
The Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: "Our St. Patrick's Day celebrations are amongst the biggest and best outside of the Emerald Isle itself, offering a great day out for Londoners as well as visitors to the capital. Last year’s London Irish Comedy Festival tent was packed last year and I’ve no doubt there’ll be laughs-a-plenty this time round."
