Funny Women readers might remember that comedy genius Tamar Broadbent scooped the runner-up prize and a ‘special commendation’ at the prestigious Stiles & Drew Awards with her original song, “17 Drafts” earlier this year. Tamar is also a regular face at our London and Brighton nights, and took her brilliant new show, Almost Epic, up to the Fringe for a successful Edinburgh run this summer.
Almost Epic is the tale of a young songwriter who has finally written an epic rock hit – and the journey she's taken to get there. It incorporates 8 new songs written by Tamar (you can check one of them out HERE) and features direction from Plested & Brown’s Clare Plested.
If you missed out, you've got a second chance to catch the show right here in London. Tamar will be performing at the Leicester Square Theatre for two nights only this coming Monday and Tuesday (25th and 26th November). The show received some impressive acclaim up in Edinburgh so we highly recommend catching it while you can!
“Lightening-fast comedic strokes, side-splitting timing and an impressive set of pipes. A tour-de-force performance, a freight train of hilarity” – Broadway Baby
“Talented, bright and funny. I predict a great future" – Michael Palin
"If this performer doesn’t make it to the very top, there’s something very wrong with the world." – Musical Theatre Review
