As the leaves start to turn and the weather gets chillier (and then warmer, and then chillier. The summer to Autumn season changeover is very hard to dress for) we realise October is almost upon us. Which means that the Rise Undercliff Run for Women is almost here!
Rise is a Brighton based charity who raise money to help survivors of domestic abuse in Brighton & Hove and West Sussex. The 8K Undercliff Run takes runners (or joggers or walkers!) along the beautiful Sussex chalk cliffs, from Saltdean to Brighton and back on Sunday 6th of October .
Those who wish to get involved can register here and take advantage of the free training sessions with FitBitch Running Club, a women only running club for beginners and experienced runners, to help make the 8k a little easier and possibly less sweaty.
If you want to take part but 8K seems a bit far to run you can take part with some friends and make it into a relay! All participants will get a medal and a goody bag.
In taking part you will be raising money for refuge accommodation, crisis appointments, a helpline, counselling, housing, legal and financial advice, solicitor appointments and many other services that help families survive domestic abuse.
