Helen O’Brien is a truly talented lady; along with being a BBC New Comedy Award winner, she was a Funny Woman Awards finalist back in 2009 as part of sketch duo Domestic Goddi. We’re big fans and excited to see her solo show, Bronagh’s Big Weekend, after a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a UK tour.

It’s 1987 and Bronagh is 13. Written and performed by O’Brien, the show tells the story of a particularly eventful weekend for our heroine – featuring a birthday, her cousin’s wedding, a bridesmaid’s dress, and the Irish Dancing Championships. We’ve been told to expect Four Weddings and a Funeral with Irish dancing and restraining orders – so naturally, we’re excited!

A one-woman performance about a mad weekend in a mad family, this is a show that promises to be both funny and poignant. Not to be missed!

“This is a really charming and at times poignant one woman show.”– Fringe Report

“Clear, pure storytelling… I enjoyed every moment.” – Snipe

You can catch Bronagh’s Big Weekend at the St James’s Theatre, London on Sunday 17th March at 6pm.
