After first starting stand-up and ventriloquism in 2002, Nina Conti quickly made a name for herself by winning the BBC New Comedy Award that very same year. Since then she’s delighted audiences everywhere with sets that combine a polished talent for ventriloquism with an ever-so-slightly dark sense of humour. Not to mention, of course, a talking monkey.
Having enjoyed sell-out runs everywhere from Edinburgh Fringe to the Melbourne Comedy Festival over recent years, we’re delighted to see Nina back in London at the St James Theatre studio as part of their Comedy Thursdays. With a set featuring ‘appearances’ from her daughter, her handyman, her local laundry proprietor, her oldest friend and a stray dog, this promises to be a night of delightfully mad comedy not to be missed.
“I adored every second, a must-see for the mildly deranged.” (The Age, Melbourne)
“She's highly-polished, exuberant and playful, with an act that's fluid, technically faultless and utterly engaging.” (Chortle)
“A mighty imagination at work” (The Sunday Times)
Nina Conti will be performing at the St James’s Theatre on 28th February as part of their St James Studio Comedy Thursdays.
