Preparations for Funny Women at the Fringe have kick-started with astounding acceleration! This year will be our 8th annual visit to the world renowned festival, and together with the celebration of our 10th anniversary, we are determined to make it our best year so far!

Before we travel to bonnie Scotland (First Class travel courtesy of East Coast oo er!) we are proud to announce these spectacular preview shows from 2011’s Funny Women Variety Award winners, Ladies Live Longer and 2011’s Funny Women Awards Winner lara A. king.

Pleasantly perverted, the Ladies’ will be showcasing ‘Ladylike’ a deliciously satirical display of the flights and falls of everyday life ignited by high energy and a glittering combination of character and sketch comedy. Audience interaction drives forward a hilarious set that is dripping with refreshingly original material. They will be performing their Edinburgh preview on Monday 16th July at the Leicester Square Theatre, London.

Lara A king is ferociously talented, writing and performing songs before steering them towards comedy, tailoring her show to a joint endeavour of sharp humour and harmonious melodies. Lara has previously toured the UK extensively with the likes of Sue Perkins and Rhona Cameron, but it is the opportunity to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in her very own show that has got her excited. Instantly likeable, Lara’s show is not to be missed so catch her on Thursday 19th July at the Leicester Square Theatre, London before she heads of to the spiralling heights of Edinburgh and beyond.

Here at Funny Women we are delighted to be supporting both Ladies Live Longer and lara A. king as they showcase their wonderfully entertaining shows, we cannot wait to see what they have in store for the Edinburgh audiences and are certain that both are not to be missed!
