Our fantastic new Awards sponsor, Benefit Cosmetics, has organised a charity run from Scotland to London to raise awareness and money for Refuge, national domestic violence charity for women and children.
Dubbed it as the Benefit and Refuge MASCARATHON, the run takes place from the 15th to 29th June starting in Edinburgh and stopping off at Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Oxford and culminating in Spitalfields London.
Television presenter, Caroline Flack will be fronting the campaign and kicking off the proceedings in Edinburgh by running the first two miles.
Commenting on the campaign, Caroline says; “I was thrilled to be asked to be an Ambassador for the Benefit and Refuge MASCARATHON. With one woman in every four experiencing domestic violence at some point in her life, I hope the MASCARATHON highlights this terrible statistic and in turn raises much needed funds for Refuge. Please join me in supporting this invaluable initiative.”
Other celebrity runners include Donna Air and Zoe Salmon with even more to be confirmed who will all be running two miles each to mark the two women a week who lose their lives to domestic violence.
Along the way there will be a range of consumer areas for runners and friends to visit including make-upper stations and sample giveaways, a make-up fan’s dream! To add a touch of Benefit’s sense of fun there will be a mascara ‘baton’ which will be passed from runner to runner (each running two miles each) who will run from city to city.
The mascara link is appropriate as Benefit's new product ‘They’re Real’ has been the most extraordinary launch in the brand's history and is already the No1 premium mascara in the UK.
